This tutorial is to show how to draw 17” wheel in solidworks.
As usual first open a new part diagram and draw the following sketch on one of the planes
3). Now create a circle of 4.8 inch diameter on the right plane. and extrude to a distance of 2 inch
4) Now create a sketch on the edge face of the wheel as shown in figure and use extruded cut , through all to make a triangular hole as shown in figure.
6) Now enable viewing temporary axes as shown in figure
click on circular pattern feature
and select the extruded cuts and fillets to duplicate the patterns select the central axis as reference for pattern and check equal spacing option and enter number of instances to be 5 as shown in figure below
click ok.
6) We are going to drill holes on the hub face. select hub face and and click on hole wizard
- Ansi Inch,
- Hex Bolt,
- size 1/2,
- Through all.
Position point at diameter 4in and 36 degree.
7) Now repeat the circular pattern same as for the hole.
8) Now add a chamfer of .5 inch to the hub side and click ok.
9) Click on the Hub Face and create an extruded cut of diameter 2.75in dia and .5 inch deep as shown add a draft of 45 degrees.
10) Now add a chamfer of .5 inch to the inner edge of the wheel rim and you are done with your alloy wheel
